The Madison County Directory is a community-built resource designed to help residents and visitors find the local businesses, services, and organizations that make this corner of Arkansas special. We're not affiliated with any government body or chamber of commerce — just neighbors helping neighbors navigate what's available close to home.
Madison County sits in the heart of the Arkansas Ozarks, tucked between the booming Northwest Arkansas metro and the rugged Boston Mountains to the south. It's a place defined by its landscape — limestone bluffs, clear-running rivers, and hardwood ridges that turn brilliant in the fall — and by the people who've chosen to call it home. From the old farming families who've worked this land for generations to the young families arriving from Fayetteville looking for space and quiet, Madison County has always drawn people who want something more genuine than what a suburb can offer.
One of the persistent challenges for a county like Madison is that the big national business platforms — Google Maps, Yelp, and others — often have incomplete, outdated, or simply wrong information about local businesses. A phone number that's been disconnected for two years. A business listed as open that closed long ago. A shop that's been here for decades with no online presence at all. We built this directory to fill that gap with something more accurate, more local, and more complete.
Every listing in this directory is free to add and free to correct. We rely on the community to keep the information current, and we believe that local knowledge is the most reliable kind. If you know of a business that should be here, or spot something that's wrong, please use the tools on the page to let us know.
Use the search bar at the top of the page to find a specific business by name, service type, or phone number. You can also browse by category using the category pills below the hero banner. Each listing shows the business name, category, address, and contact details where available. Some listings include links to websites or Facebook pages.
To add a new business, click the "Add Your Business" button near the top of the directory. To correct an existing listing — wrong phone number, closed business, updated hours — click the small "suggest a correction" link at the bottom of any business card. All submissions are reviewed before going live. There is no cost to list a business, and we do not sell premium placements.
Madison County is home to a handful of distinct small towns and communities, each with its own character.
Huntsville is the county seat of Madison County, home to the historic courthouse square and a population of around 2,300. It serves as the commercial and civic hub of the county, with grocery stores, medical services, local restaurants, and county government offices all concentrated here. Huntsville hosts community events throughout the year and sits at the gateway to some of the most scenic stretches of the Arkansas Ozarks.
Elkins sits on the western edge of Madison County, just a short drive from Fayetteville, making it one of the fastest-growing communities in the area. Families are drawn by its quieter pace, lower cost of living, and the well-regarded Elkins School District. Its proximity to the broader Northwest Arkansas metro means residents enjoy small-town life without sacrificing access to larger-city amenities.
Kingston is a small rural community nestled in the rolling hills of Madison County, close to the War Eagle River watershed. It's a popular base for outdoor recreation — fishing, hiking, and hunting draw visitors to the surrounding land. The area has a peaceful, unhurried character that longtime residents fiercely appreciate.
Combs is a tiny unincorporated community tucked into the Boston Mountains in the southern part of Madison County. With just a handful of residents and a deeply rural feel, Combs is the kind of place where neighbors still look out for one another and the land is genuinely wild. It's a reminder of what much of the Ozarks looked like before the interstate made everything closer.
Wesley is a small unincorporated community in Madison County with a quiet, agricultural character. Surrounded by pasture and timber land, it's the sort of place that doesn't ask for attention and doesn't need it. Residents value the privacy and the wide open spaces that have drawn people to this part of Arkansas for generations.
Hindsville is a historic small community best known to visitors as the home of War Eagle Mill, one of Arkansas's most beloved landmarks. The mill sits along War Eagle Creek and still grinds grain the old-fashioned way, drawing thousands of visitors each fall for the nationally recognized War Eagle Craft Fair. The surrounding countryside is quintessential Ozarks — beautiful in every season.
St. Paul is a scenic community along the Kings River in the southern part of Madison County, beloved by kayakers, canoeists, and anyone who wants to spend a day on one of Arkansas's finest floating rivers. The Kings River flows clear and cold through limestone bluffs, and the put-in near St. Paul is a favorite starting point for floats of all skill levels. The community itself is small, quiet, and closely tied to the land and water around it.
